77 students and 8 staff have returned from a very successful trip to the Battlefields. Staff were impressed by their behaviour and general politeness. The group were very lucky in visiting Talbot House in Poperinge where they captured the atmosphere of a place where soldiers relaxed behind the lines. A four star hotel near Ypres provided a good base to explore the Ypres battlefield. The weather was superb for this time of year. Though as you can see from the photograph not all our students were hardened to the breeze.

A combined year 10 & 11 geography group flew to Naples to study an area in southern Italy. Staying on the outskirts of Sorrento the 43 students and 5 staff visited Vesuvius, Pompei, Amalfi and Capri to name but a few spots. Seeing how the local people have carved out a living from cliff tops and from the side of an active volcano was most impressive.
It was clear that some students were not used to walking any distance but it was fascinating to see the young ladies walking in fashion shoes rather than spoil their image by wearing boots!
And everyone enjoyed the trip to the mozarella farm!
When you go into the school hall you will see a new ceiling projector set up to work with an electric screen and stereo sound. Should be an asset to everyone.
Mr Fitzgerald scores his first hat trick.
The school was shocked last night (11 October) to see a member of the RE department use his weight to muscle past school pupils and to claim a number of goals that were clearly too high or too wide. His name cannot be mentioned in a public blog but it rhymes with book. We hope this public humiliation and the six lashes that he has been promised will stop this excessive use of violence.
