  • What do you think of a bell being fitted in Lugg Court?
  • Lunch - what do you think of the new system?
  • Recycling Bins - should these be used, instead of not providing plastic/plastic cups (in the hall)?

Do you have any other ideas of what the school council needs to address?

Update: Comments have now been closed on this post, thanks for all of your input!

The issue of boys wearing earings at the school has come to the attention of some boys in year 11. We have gone to Mr Kenneddy who adivised us to speak to the school council it would be much appreciated it it was considered at the next meeting.

Sean Blake is sitting next to me and looking at my screen. He says that boys shouldn’t be allowed to wear earring because they ‘look like poofs’.

I on the other hand am a very liberal person, and agree that boys should be alllowed to wear earings.

From what i’ve seen the new system at lunchtime - the order of entry to the hall - isn’t working. The old system was fine, why try to fix something that isn’t broken?

I also think that the new system for people being allowed to enter the form room isn’t working. Prefects no longer have weight behind their words, as they can not send people out that need to be sent out, as they can just re-enter the building through another door.

In my infinite wisdom i have found a solution to this. Students should only be allowed to enter through the main door. All other doors should be locked. This way pupils who break the rules, i.e. eat in the classrooms can be removed from the building and not be able to re-enter and re-offend

    PAT FOR PRESIDENT!!!

Patricia Smith who is sat beside me, (he is privaleged) believes that earings on boys make them look absolutely stupid and like girls.

I on the over hand agree with his above statement (cushty). Boys with huge fake diamante earings look like a mongoose with its head stuck in a hole.

the lunch system does work and has proven a success for getting people used to the outside world and its system of first come first served .

At lunch times people who have been naughty although they should be kicked out the use of violance should be prohibited over wise i would be happy to stand in and use violance against them. Bullying (as i was taught) is against the St Marys way.

    I am cool :D

Thank you to Miss Hutt and the members of the School Council who assisted with the recent interviws for our English/Drama post. It was crucially important to get the opinion and endorsement of the student body. Well done - your contribution was very much appreciated.

Pat and Sean, please stop arguing!
Prefects, as Pat said, no longer have anything to do and misbehaviour around the school is rife. the lunch system, however, works fine.

a bell does need to be fitted at Lugg. Also, prefects need power, because now they have no respect at all from the lower eschelons. POWER TO THE PREFECTS!

  18. 18 Mr.Stokes

i agree with charlotte, we should have some benches placed so that we can sit down, also a bell really does need fitting in Lugg Court as no one really nows when the end of lesson is!

Can you remove office 2003 and install office 2007 and put windows vista

  21. 21 Demon

Put Office 2007 on yes, but not Vista.
All Vista is a rip-off of the Mac OS.
    Use the Careers Library.

  22. 22 Alex

Although this discussion is probably more suited to the ICT blog, I *sort of* agree with you on Vista. It’s unfair to say all of the new features are Mac rip-offs, as some are born of the natural evolution of the software and probably would have been created regardless of OSX’s influence; Apple just got there first.

Playing devils advocate here, Vista’s interface is pretty stunning, however much it hogs system resources. But in overall usability and wow-factor, Mac OSX Leopard definitely beats Windows Vista hands down, especially with the GUI overhaul they’ve made since Tiger. Actually, you can read my fanboy article about this subject here :)

I think that cookies should be brought back at break please.

  24. 24 OFFICE 2003 = RUBBISH!

Can you please remove office 2003 and replace it with 2007 because i find it increasingly annoying! and no one knows how to convert the files, so they get an “altered” document! please catch up with the technology Mr Singleton!

  25. 25 The Cyberman

yes i agree we should put Office 2007 on the server

  26. 26 Alex

@ OFFICE 2003 = RUBBISH! and The Cyberman:
Well a software update has been issued around the network that allows Office 2007 documents to be opened using Office 2003.

Also, catching up with technology costs money… :P
